Have you ever wondered how to lay eye makeup with more than one eyeshadow color? To get that shade effect? It's super easy! All you need is two eyeshadow colors; one light and one dark. Here is a tutorial for the easiest way to lay your eyeshadow!
I recommend buying a light gold or silver, which is a very good investment for a "base" color! The darker color could be any color you want to use, perhaps one which matches your outfit? You'll also need a eyeshadow brush, unless you prefer using your fingers, as I do:) But remember, ALWAYS make sure your hands are clean before laying your makeup. The same goes for your brushes. You don't want acne and bad skin because of bad hygiene. Make it a routine to always clean your hands before you start! :)
This is the palette I used for this tutorial:
I used the colors marked with a red square. The light gold one is my base, which I used on each look. If you're not used to wearing this "much" eyeshadow, I recommend using the gold and brown colors, because those colors together will look the most natural. And they look good on any skin tone!
1. So, the first thing you have to do is to cover your whole eyelid with the light base color. You can chose if you want to bring the color up to your brow (that's what I did). Also add some of the color in the inner corner for the eye to brighten it up!
2. Take the dark color and start adding it in the outer corner of your lids. Bring it in to the center of your eyelid, and up to your brow bone. Like you can see that I did in the picture. Blend the two colors together by smudging them. We don't want any sharp edges! If you want to, you can take some of the light color again to blend it. Keep blending with both colors until you get the result you want! Don't be afraid to use some extra of the dark color in the outer corner, this only makes the look more glamorous. Some girls are afraid to look slutty wearing eyemakeup, but in my opinion it looks more "slutty" if it's only done half-way.
3. The last step; this is where the magic happens! Add your mascara. If you think the eyeshadow look a bit messy, don't wash it away before you add the mascara. This will immediately make the look more glamorous. Remember, always add the mascara after you're done with the eyeshadow. This is because some of the eyeshadow will fall on your lashes and you don't want to have gold/brown/purple ect. powder on your lashes, you want them to be black :)
Here are the two other examples of colors to match with the light gold, purple and black:

If you want your eyeshadow more advanced, you can try to add more color. Ex. light gold - light brown - dark brown. Add some eyeliner, black along your upper lashes or white on your waterline. Or you can take the darker color further up to your brow for a night out? You can also try to bring the dark color down like shown in this picture:
Good luck!
